Frequently asked questions

Answers about post-fire examinations

Can the cause be determined from photographs?

Preliminary assessment is possible; the certainty of findings depends on the quality and completeness of records.

Is a scene inspection necessary?

It depends on the assignment and how well the scene is preserved. The need is discussed when agreeing the work.

The scene has already been cleaned. Is it still worth contacting you?

Yes, but loss of traces can limit the examination. Keep documents and photographs taken before cleaning.

Does this replace an EMERCOM investigation?

No. A private examination does not replace the powers of state authorities.
