Questions for the expert must be technical. For example: where was the fire origin, what was the most likely cause, could the fire have started from the wiring, and do the previous expert’s findings match the case materials?
Questions of culpability, intent or legal liability generally belong to the court or investigating authorities, rather than the expert.
What you can do
- gather documents and photographs;
- formulate technical questions for the expert;
- check findings in previous materials;
- prepare a specialist opinion or an expert report review.
